Shocked & Disappointed
While sitting waiting on Gunnar to come out of school I usually talk to Kelly, which is Gunnar's friend Reece's mom. When the boys came out Reece said"Gunnar got on red" over and over! I looked at Gunnar and could tell his face was not smiling, but he kept saying no I didn't. I then told Kelly "Well I'll find out soon enough when I open his folder because the teacher sends a note when on red." We started heading down the road to WC to pick up Lily when Gunnar says"I need to throw some trash away out of my folder as soon as we get home" I said "what trash?" He said "Never mind I was just joking" By then I knew he was up to something. I said hand me your backpack now! He put his head down and said" I was on red" I got his folder and sure enough there was a note for him talking during work time. It was the first time he had been in any trouble at school so I wasn't to upset about that, but I was fuming on his lying and scheming. I couldn't believe at age 6 he was smart enough to try and throw away the note. What he didn't realize was I have to sign it. Needless to say he had a lot of time to sit and think about what he did. We tried are best to explain that had he been honest he wouldn't be in that much trouble but it was the point he lied that made us so upset. Still as I type this I'm shocked!!

I wonder where little ones come up with things, mine does something new everyday and it usually shocks me too!! :-) at least we know they have their mommies brains! :-)
Hi Jenelle - I'm "Nick Coy's Mom"...there must have been something in the air yesterday at the boys' elementary b/c Nick brought home a note about "going to red" too! I think kindergarten can be a tough adjustment - especially for rambunctious boys like our's! Gotta love 'em though...
