Long Week!

Well since Gunnar started school this week it's been up and down emotions. It's great when you can run to the store and have only two kids! But it's sad when I think of him being gone everyday for the next 13 years, and then on... We had a open house at his school last night and walked around a lot giving him a sense of where everything is, which made me feel better! All this week I have walked him in to school in the morning and got him to where he was going. The second day of school we got there too early so he had to go to the gym and walk laps. As I watched him jump in the sea of K-6th graders walking I fought tears. He looked so little in that big crowd! So I vowed we would get there right at 8am so he could go straight to the auditorium. Although none of this fazed him, he was asking to go to the gym the next morning. So fearless! This morning I dropped him off at the door and let him walk in himself. This was another moment that made me tear up watching this tiny 5 yo go walk himself into big boy school! I'm sure this year will be filled with tears as we go through all the "Firsts" of everything. Just bare with me!!
